A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows the creator (or ‘donor) to chose people they trust (their ‘attorneys’) to make decisions for them if they lose mental capacity. But what happens if the donor loses capacity after they have moved abroad? In this blog, I discuss a hearing where an attorney applied to move her aunt, for whom she holds lasting power of attorney, from a care home in Lebanon to a care home in the UK.
