#116 A personal thank you to the staff at East Grinstead Hospital
In the week leading up to Christmas, most people are doing final prep, presents, food and decorations. Instead of that happy normal I spent the week before Christmas as an inpatient, most of that time at East Grinstead Hospital.
This podcast is my way of saying thank you to everyone who took care of me in East Grinstead.
Key messages
What I learnt from the unique and humbling perspective of a patient:
The bewilderment of answering the question; “how are you” and appreciating from very personal experience how different it is when people ask “how are you in this moment instead.” It is just too difficult to answer “how are you?”
My imaginary What Matters Most to me board would say:
To be seen as a person
To be treated with kindness
To feel safe
